Australia’s favourite drama returns for a second season

Aug 30, 2016

The first season of Channel Seven’s hit drama series, 800 Words, saw newspaper columnist George Turner (Erik Thomson) relocate with his two teenage kids, Shay (Melina Vidler) and Arlo (Benson Jack Anthony), from Sydney to the small New Zealand seaside town of Weld following the death of his wife Laura. However, George’s plans of a fresh start for himself and his family did not go according to plan…

In this brand new second season we re-join George; battling to re-unite his splintered family following Shay’s self-appointed exile in Australia, and discovering what it takes to become a local in the quirky New Zealand town. However, if George is to succeed he must actually start his life anew – on every level; including his love life. It’s time for George to get back into that game of love. But is he any good at the game? And is Jan (Bridie Carter) the one he should play the game with?

Helmed by award-winning actor and star of Channel Seven’s Packed To The Rafters, Erik Thomson, the first season of Seven’s hit family drama captivated Australian audiences, averaging 2 million viewers nationally each week. And with Season now airing on Tuesdays from 8.45pm, Australia continues to be charmed by the Turner family and the intriguing Weldian locals.

Following broadcast, 800 Words Season 2 will be available on DVD later in 2016.
