Coming Soon to DVD & Blu-Ray: The Story of Australian Rock & Roll

2nd June 2015

Frankly, if you haven’t been touched by Albert Productions in some way in the past 50 years, you have been living what could only be described as a rather sheltered life. – Sydney Morning Herald

From the 1960s Albert Productions, headed up by Ted Albert, creates a house of hits in Australia that changes the sound of popular music. Under the guidance of Ted alongside songwriters/producers Harry Vanda and George Young, Alberts become a rich family of artists including Billy Thorpe, The Easybeats, Stevie Wright, AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, and The Angels, who conquer the charts and achieve international acclaim. The Alberts guitar sound that can be heard in so many of their bands is like a throbbing V8 motor, the sound of working class good times. Anti-authoritarian and hard-living, it is the sound of a suburban young Australia at its most confident and exciting.

Produced by Bombora Film and Music and Beyond Productions and soon to be broadcast on ABC, Blood & Thunder: The Sound of Alberts is at its essence a classic Australian story; a story of immigrant families – the originally Swiss Alberts and the Scottish Youngs – taking on Australia and the world and making their mark in the history books through rock & roll.

Blood & Thunder: The Sound of Alberts is coming soon to DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital via Beyond Home Entertainment.
